A True Perspective of Islam
Direct Quotations from Muhammad Help Clear Myths about Religion
SAYREVILLE, N.J. – In recent years, Islam has been forced into the spotlight and enveloped in the political and cultural turmoil seen in the world today. Many Muslims believe the religion is being falsely perceived, while many others are outraged at what they are hearing about it. In his new book, Muhammad Said: Learn about Islam from the prophet himself (now available through AuthorHouse), Mustafa Zayed offers a simple, effective understanding though quotations of the prophet.
Using his experience as a Muslim-American, Zayed seeks to connect the divide that is increasing between Muslims and non-Muslims, which is leading to hatred, confrontation and already bloody conflicts. By pulling more than 300 quotations from the recorded teachings of Muhammad, the central figure of the religion, Zayed cuts through the judgment and interpretations of Islam to give readers an unbiased, honest look. Readers discover for themselves the severe contradictions between the wronged perceptions of Islam and the actual nature of its tenets, the author says.
The included wisdom from Muhammad touches on aspects of life and faith, ranging from love and compassion to justice. It shows the deep respect Islam holds for the major religions of the world and other prophets, such as Jesus.
Muhammad Said is a thought-provoking book that clears the misconceptions of a faith that many people have been exposed to for the first time. Zayed’s hope is that it will help heal the wounds between all of God’s people.
“If I succeed in spreading the truth, helping to close even one inch of the divide of delusional fear and ignorance, or even help save one piece of hair from being hurt on either side of the widening divide, I would have succeeded tremendously,” Zayed writes.
Zayed graduated from Alexandria University with a bachelor’s degree in communication systems engineering. While he has been involved with financial markets for the past decade, he has maintained a keen interest in comparative cultures and religions. He has been a writer for many years, but his desire to contribute to the current cultural dialogue prompted him to publish Muhammad Said.
